Jay Decker with the Colorado Department of Transportation will s peak about Denver’s goal of becoming a Smart City. Come learn more about the concept of connected vehicles and pedestrians, why our travel habits throughout the city are crucial to understand for better transportation, and what this all means from a lighting perspective. Join us to learn more about all of the Smart City goals Denver has set out to achieve, and how the lighting industry can play a role!
Summary of Jay's presentation: Denver, Colorado is a city whose progressive approach to innovation is rooted in its pioneering, Western spirit. Spurred on by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Smart City Challenge, Denver is aggressively embracing and testing new and better ways to deploy technology and use data to improve services for residents, businesses, and visitors. Jay Decker, the Transportation and Innovation Manager for the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, will discuss some of the Smart City projects Denver is currently pioneering such as connected vehicle infrastructure, 5G deployment, air pollution monitoring, and micro mobility.
