UNITED NEWS
Each year, United Way volunteers and donors play a crucial role in the Citizens Review Process (CRP). The CRP is how United Way decides which local non-profits receive funding. Volunteers review grant applications to determine how effectively programs address community needs and contribute to United Way's goals. Then, they report feedback to our Fund Distribution Committee for further review.

United Way is looking for volunteers to help decide where this important funding should go. If you wish to be a game-changer, stay tuned for registration opening in March.
Join us in extending a warm welcome to our new marketing and communications intern, William Swanson! Will is a senior at Clark Advanced Learning Center and plans to pursue his academic career at the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). With a keen interest in marketing and communications, we're so excited to have him bring fresh perspectives and energy to our mission of serving the community.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) appointments are now full!

Keeping our skills sharp ensures we're always ready to spring into action and help those in need. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported this important initiative. Together, we're ensuring a safer, more resilient Martin County!
The United Way of Martin County Foundation was proud to announce Elizabeth (Betsy) Herold as the 2024 Frances Langford Humanitarian Award recipient. This prestigious award recognizes community philanthropists who demonstrate care, compassion and commitment in support of the United Way of Martin County and the non-profit sector.

Please join us in wishing Betsy congratulations! Her passion for giving back is truly inspiring, and we're so grateful for all that she does. Here's to many more years of creating positive change together!
Reflecting on the heartwarming moments and collective impact of the 2023 United Way Holiday Project. Together, we spread joy, kindness and made a difference in the lives of those in need. Thank you to our amazing volunteers, partners and community for coming together and embodying the true spirit of giving.

In case you missed it, check out this video showcasing our holiday project and all the amazing things we achieved.
We recently wrapped up an eye-opening Community Conversation.
Dr. Savage from Cleveland Clinic Martin Health shared invaluable insights about the varying cardiac services available to residents, and George Stokus, Assistant Martin County Administrator, informed us on ARPA dollars and the unique challenge of 'affordable housing' in our diverse community. George's perspective on recalculating affordability based on wages rather than median income was a game-changer. Ultimately, that is not a decision to be made at the local level but is something to hopefully be considered or proposed moving forward.
Our Students United champions dedicated themselves to making an impact during a transformative agency site visit with Helping People Succeed. Students were engaged in learning about the diverse array of services offered by Helping People Succeed and the profound impact it's had in our community. A heartfelt thank you to Glenna Paris, Gift Planning Officer, and Suzy Hutcheson, President & CEO, for their exceptional presentation and our special gifts!
