Kids in Residential Care Enjoy Diverse Adventures Across the Kansas City Metro

From fighting dragons at Sandbox Virtual Reality to catching foul balls at a Kansas City Monarchs baseball game, the youth in our on-campus living programs enjoyed a wide variety of field trip adventures in 2023 thanks to a Hunt Family Foundation grant. $430,000 Renovation Project Transforms PATH House for Next Generation of Youth in Foster Care

After 16 weeks of renovations inside the PATH House, the kids in our Pathways Transitional Living Program can finally go back home.


Built in 1910, the three-story historic home is conveniently located in the Midtown neighborhood of Kansas City and provides supervised transitional living arrangements for up to ten 16- to 21-year-olds transitioning out of foster care. Despite over a century of use, the house has never undergone a complete renovation - until now.

Resources Available to Help Parents Thrive

It’s important to know that foster and adoptive parents have a variety of resources and supports available to them, including the University of Missouri's ParentLink and Kinship Navigator Program. ParentLink connects Missouri families to parenting, family, home, and daily living supports. One of ParentLink's services is a Kinship Navigator Program, which empowers kinship caregivers by strengthening their capacity to help the children in their care thrive.

Neurodiversity & Autism Spectrum Disorder

Participants will learn about autism spectrum disorder, when to suspect autism, strategies for success, and how to advocate for children to ensure they get the educational resources they need to become the fantastic adults they are meant to be.
