Introducing GGATX Conversations

We are excited to launch GGATX Conversations, a new podcast designed to equip and inspire listeners to embrace and seek opportunities to create meaningful impact in their communities. Through thoughtful dialogue with leaders, change-makers, and community builders, we explore how generosity is learned, lived, and strengthened across generations.

Podcast Feature: Generations Giving Together with Danielle Oristian York, 21/64

What does it take to build a more generous Austin across generations?

In our latest GGATX podcast, Danielle Oristian-York joins JJ Langston for a powerful conversation about values alignment, collective identity, and why now is the moment to invest in next-gen philanthropic leadership. With five generations currently active in the workforce and in philanthropy, the opportunity and the tension are real. Danielle reminds us that the key isn’t dividing the pie. It’s building something bigger together.

What We Explored

✨Values Before Vehicles

Disagreement is often about strategy, not core values. When we dig into the why, we discover surprising alignment.

✨Collective Identity > Individual Preferences

Philanthropy works best when we move from “my cause” to “our community.”

✨Next-Gen Strengths

  • Urgency and energy around climate, equity, and innovation
  • Deep digital fluency and network power
  • New models of communication and collaboration
  • A strong desire for purpose, service, and meaningful relationships

✨Avoid Tokenism. Share Power

Inviting young leaders to the table must mean real voice, real agency, and mutual mentorship, not symbolic inclusion.

✨Identity Drives Lifelong Generosity

Ages 20–45 are peak identity-formation years. If generosity becomes part of identity now, it lasts a lifetime.

Dive deeper into Danielle’s insights on multigenerational philanthropy and why Austin’s next generation is key to building a more connected, more generous community. Click here to listen to the full conversation.
