March Luncheon
Monday, March 2
| |
LOCATION: Miromar Clubhouse
CHECK-IN: 11:30 AM
LUNCH SERVED: 12:00 Noon
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, February 20
| |
Mark your calendars—this March luncheon is going to be one of our most talked-about events yet! We're thrilled to welcome back the incredible Mikki Williams for her fun, insightful session on You’ve Got Personality!
| | |
Ever wonder why one person needs a plan while another just needs a nap... or why someone always has to be right? 😄 This hilarious, heartwarming talk is your ultimate survival guide to understanding personality styles—bringing way more grace, fewer stresses, and tons of laughs to relationships!
With so many of our amazing members buzzing about this one and limited seating in the cozy Clubhouse dining room, we're keeping it fair and fabulous for everyone. To ensure as many members as possible can experience this gem, we're limiting non-member guests to one per member registration this month.
(As always, guests are welcome space permitting—if more than one guest is requested, additional guests will be placed on a guest waitlist to keep things balanced and give everyone a fair shot.)
Spots will fill up fast for this powerhouse speaker and topic—register early to lock in your seat! Who's ready for better connections and big "aha" moments this March? We can't wait to see you there!

Pet Peace of Mind - Hope Healthcare
For many of us, our pets are family. They provide unconditional love when we need it most. However, for many hospice patients facing serious illness, the simple acts of caring for a dog or cat, buying food, getting to the vet, or even filling a water bowl—can become physically or financially impossible. Sadly, many patients worry they will have to give up their beloved companions right when they need them the most.
| | |
Pet Peace of Mind changes that story.
Working locally through Hope Healthcare SW Florida, this program ensures that patients and their pets can remain together throughout their end-of-life journey.
Pet Peace of Mind program provides trained volunteers to help with daily pet care, covers veterinary and food costs, and even arranges for new loving homes if a pet is left orphaned.
Your generous support for this March Charity will help provide:
-
In-Home Support: Volunteers to help with feeding, walking and care
-
Financial Aid: Covering the cost of pet food and veterinary visits
-
Peace of Mind: Arranging loving new homes for pets if they are left orphaned
Community support and donations make this program possible.
Thank you for helping us preserve this bond and give these patients the gift of comfort and companionship.

TECH TIP: Let Your Phone Be Your Helpful Assistant!
Wouldn't it be wonderful if your phone could listen and do simple things for you—like remind you of a luncheon, call a friend, or set a timer for tea—without typing a thing? It can! Most phones have a built-in voice helper ready to go (Siri on iPhone or Google Assistant on Android).
Here's how to start in just a minute:
1. Wake it up:
-
On iPhone: Press and hold the side button (on models with Face ID, like iPhone X and newer) — or say “Hey Siri” or just “Siri” if you've enabled voice listening in Settings.
-
On Android: Say “Hey Google” (if set up for always-listening) — or press and hold the Home button (on older models) or the power/side button (on many newer ones) to bring up Google Assistant.
2. Speak naturally: Try saying things like:
- "Hey Siri/Google, remind me to RSVP for the March luncheon at 10 AM tomorrow."
- "Call Bernadette." (It pulls from your contacts!)
- "Set a timer for 10 minutes." (Great for cooking or napping!)
- "What's the weather today?" (Quick check before heading out!)
That's it—no apps to download, no menus to hunt through. Practice a few times in a quiet spot, and soon it'll feel like chatting with a thoughtful friend. It's especially handy for staying organized with our events, calling grandkids, or remembering to take meds.
Give it a whirl this week—you'll be amazed how much easier life gets! Who's going to try a voice command today? Share your favorite at our next gathering—we're all cheering each other on!

Put a Face to the Heart!
Help us make the Hearts of Miromar Member Directory even more friendly and connected by sharing a current photo of yourself. Seeing familiar faces makes it easier to recognize one another, spark conversations, and strengthen the friendships that make our community so special.
Whether it’s a polished headshot or a recent snapshot that truly feels like you, we’d love to include it!
At the moment, photos can’t be uploaded directly to the website—so just email your photo to kimberly.huffman1966@gmail.com, and I’ll handle the rest. Quick, easy, and done!
A smiling face makes our directory warmer, more personal, and more “Hearts.” Thank you for helping bring our community to life 💕✨

New Club Idea: Interested in Starting a Hearts Bunco Club?
We're exploring a fun new idea: starting our very own Bunco club! This is brand-new and just getting off the ground—Cindy McDonald is hosting a casual session where we'll play the game, have some fun, and see if there's enough interest to start a regular Bunco club.
Bunco is an incredibly easy, laugh-filled social dice game that requires no experience at all (pure luck—roll three dice, match the round's number for points, yell "Bunco!" for big wins, switch tables to chat with new friends... it's all giggles, mingling, and zero skill needed!).
If you're curious about Bunco and would like to come try it out (and help decide if we form an ongoing club), save the date:
-
Date: Wednesday, February 18
-
Time: 6:30 PM
-
Venue: TBD (we'll pick a cozy spot based on how many respond!)
Please RSVP to Cindy McDonald by Sunday, February 15 so she can plan tables of 4 and choose the venue—email cmcdonald29@hotmail.com or text 609-304-2690.
No commitment required—just come for the fun and see what you think! Your quick reply will help us know if this is something Hearts wants to keep rolling. Thank you—we hope to see you there for an evening of lighthearted joy, new connections, and maybe the start of something wonderful! Who's feeling adventurous?
