Know and Be Known is a Harbor Youth retreat tailored for our high school students (8th grade students are invited, too). I think a common question we ask is: "Do I belong?" Am I really accepted as I am? Am I loved in the places of my soul I am afraid to visit? At this retreat, with all distractions removed, we will be diving into what it means to be adopted into the family of God. The retreat will be at Look Up Lodge, which is in Traveler's Rest, South Carolina.

Prayers for General Conference
In the midst of what appears to be an uncertain season, where do we find the certainty? How can we be non-anxious in the midst of anxious times?
We remember our call and mission. Jesus is always at the center of our mission.
We are a covenantal people connected to God and one another through our baptism. Therefore, laity and clergy are both called to work together to fulfill the mission and ministry of the church. In our covenantal ministry, we are called and sent to bear fruit as manifested in making disciples and to transform the world. Therefore, for the sake of fruitful ministry fear not! Innovation, creativity, risk-taking are encouraged. As the people called Methodists, this is who we are.
Our Catawba Valley District Prayer team has committed to praying for our clergy, laity, and communities. We are always praying for our called session of General Conference. We invite all clergy and laity across the district to join us in prayer. General conference will begin their day on February 23, as a day of prayer. They will be in their working session February 24-26. We ask that you develop prayer vigils in your local congregations to keep all delegates in prayer.
Prayer scripture:
February 23 – Jeremiah 29:11
February 24 – Hebrews 13:20-21
February 25 – James 1-5
February 26 – Proverbs 3:5-6
