February Jamaica Series
Chapter Three

The St Paul’s Church Jamaica committee is raising money to support the Chantilly, Jamaica preschool program. The Chantilly Early Childhood Institution (Basic School) is a preschool program for children 3 to 5 years of age. The children receive 10 months of education and two meals a day.

For 20 plus years, St Paul’s has sent a team of medical professionals and lay people to provide medical care to Chantilly and the surrounding communities. The group attends services at St Stephen’s Anglican Church and presents a craft program for the children following the church service. During the week, the group works with the local school program (Grades 1 to 6) and the Basic School to provide a devotional service for both groups.

The medical clinic is located at the Basic School in the center of the village and there are always children playing in the area. When the clinic is in session, it is like old home day and everyone comes to visit. People stay for hours catching up with one another.

The following comments are reflections of our St Paul’s Church missionaries about the youth of Chantilly, Jamaica:

The St Paul’s Church Jamaica mission group needs to raise $8,000 this month to support the children in the Basic School. Tution for a student is $250.00 which helps to educate the child for 10 months and gives her/him two meals daily.

Please consider supporting this worthy mission. Any amount that you can send will be greatly appreciated by the children of Chantilly, Jamaica.

Thank you,
Mark Carney
Jamaica Committee Chairperson
