Data Dashboard Event

The data dashboard event held on January 23, 2025, was a resounding success. Ignacio Faria, the Center of Excellence (COE) data expert, captivated the audience by diving deep into the innovative features of the CTE Program Success Metrics Data Dashboard and showcasing the seamless user experience. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this event. Your participation not only made the event memorable, but also paved the way for future collaborations and insights in the world of data!

Quality Jobs in the CVML Region


A Top 50 Quality Jobs report will be unveiled in March. This is an official sneak peek of the top 50. Stay tuned as we reveal the leading industries and high-demand jobs shaping the future of work in the region.

Criteria used to define "quality jobs" were middle-skill occupations that require more than a high school diploma but less than a four-year degree often represent opportunities for economic mobility for a broad range of students and residents.

Get to know our College of the Sequoias Dean:

Dr. Jonna Schengel

Dr. Jonna Schengel is the Dean of CTE, Workforce Development, Industry & Technology and Nursing & Allied Health at College of the Sequoias (COS). Jonna has been working at COS for 15 years.


In 2009, Jonna came across an opportunity to assist in a new physical therapist program at COS, and thought she would only stay for 5 years, but enjoyed higher education and went back to get a doctorate.


Jonna has been at the forefront of helping with the cultivation of workforce development. Through being a teacher and dean, she has made changes to people's lives and enjoys seeing those people become part of the community.


Helping students establish themselves in the professional world is one way Jonna is making an impact on campus, as well as creating a space where both students and professionals can interact and build connections and experience.


The new COS Technology and Trades Complex just opened in January 2025, and has been Jonna's most recent emphasis for workforce development! Watch the following YouTube video: Grand Opening - Trades Complex at College of the Sequoias Tulare Campus
