February 2024

Dear MHCC Familia,

What a wonderful time of the year! No, not February, although I found the snowstorm this week to be pretty. I’m speaking of the electric atmosphere evident across Detroit, Michigan, and the country because of the success of the Detroit Lions this season. Their success was an incredibly unifying time for the city and state and helped provide an incredible economic boost to many local businesses. The MHCC also provides boosts to small businesses through its programs and events. Whether it’s business networking or professional and business development workshops and educational opportunities, we support your business needs as members and community partners.

February offers many chances to engage with the Chamber, other businesses, and professionals as you seek to grow your network and business opportunities. Our Tercer Jueves Business Networking event happens on Thursday, February 15th, when we partner with two of our member businesses, Reliance One, Inc. and Stellantis, also to host ‘The DEI Ripple Effect: Building an Authentic and Inclusive Organization.’ Whether you’re a small business wanting to learn more or a larger one that already has a DEI focus, you’ll walk away with great insights from our esteemed panel of DEI professionals. Registration is open, and capacity is limited, so sign up soon. See the details below for registration and sponsorship opportunities.

On February 21st, from noon to 1 pm, we look forward to engaging with our member businesses at our VIRTUAL Annual Membership Meeting. Consider it a ‘lunch and learn’ experience, and set aside time to join us as our team shares the State of the Chamber, reviewing 2023 accomplishments and what’s in store for 2024. If you are a member of the MHCC, please register to participate and take a few minutes to give us your feedback by completing this year’s membership survey. We want to know how we can improve and ways to support your business needs. Both links can be found below.

Finally, we’re super excited to kick off our first Signature Event of the year soon and hope you’ll join us as we host our 20th Annual Economic Forum Breakfast on Thursday, March 28th, on the heels of the Lions’ memorable season and the NFL Draft coming to Detroit in April. Our Keynote Speaker is Marissa Solis, Sr. Vice President, Global Brand and Consumer Marketing for the NFL. Marissa is a magnetic Latina business leader with over 25 years of experience in marketing management, communications, and sales in the U.S. and Latin American markets. She leads the National Football League's global brand and marketing initiatives, including traditional and digital media, in-stadium marketing, and social justice initiatives. This year’s event will be at a new location, One Campus Martius in downtown Detroit, and one you won’t want to miss! See details below for registration and sponsorships.

Sincerely,
