2026 Oscar-Nominated Short Films


Mountain Shadow Film Society will present The “Best” of the Oscar Shorts in advance of the Academy Awards, showcasing a curated selection of Oscar-nominated Animated, Documentary, and Live-Action short films for audiences to enjoy and judge ahead of the ceremony. The program is designed to feature the shorts most likely to resonate with Mountain Shadow audiences and will run no longer than 120 minutes.

The Librarians Film Screening and Discussion

The Lamorinda Care Collective is a pop-up community experiment focused on generosity, kindness, and inclusivity. They exist to meet unmet needs and strengthen community care so that everyone has the opportunity to thrive, together.

The Lafayette-Orinda Presbyterian Church Egg Hunt & Spring Celebration


Join the Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church for their annual community Egg Hunt & Spring Celebration! This family-friendly event is open to the entire Lamorinda community. Invite your friends, family, and neighbors!

The Lafayette Rotary Club is pleased to announce the date for the Annual Candy Scramble. This event is open to all children ages one through eight. The event takes place at Lafayette Plaza, at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. & Moraga Road, Lafayette, at 10am on Saturday April 4.

Camp Joybound Summer Sessions


Joybound People & Pets is welcoming students ages 8-15 years old to Camp Joybound! This weeklong camp at Joybound’s Walnut Creek headquarters introduces students to veterinary medicine and animal care, providing hands-on experience with dogs and cats in a fun and instructive environment.


Throughout the week, students will learn alongside, shadow, and engage in hands-on care with Joybound’s clinic, animal care, training, and adoption experts. It’s perfect for students with a passion for animal care and wellness, life sciences, and medicine.

Volunteer

The Lamorinda Spirit Van is seeking volunteer drivers to help local older adults (age 60+) get to medical appointments, run errands, shop for groceries, and more.


If you’re age 25–75, have a good driving record, and a few free hours in the morning, mid-day, or afternoon—once a week or even just occasionally—they’d love to hear from you! Contact Riki to learn more.
