Fiscal Sponsorship for Nonprofits

Using a fiscal sponsorship arrangement offers a way for a cause to attract donors even when it is not yet recognized as tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). In essence the fiscal sponsor serves as the administrative "home" of the cause.

Charitable contributions are given to the fiscal sponsor, which then grants them to support the cause.

A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of charitable projects.

Want to Volunteer? Need Volunteers? START HERE

One of the most common questions the Sutter Yuba Homeless Consortium receives is, “How can I help?” or “Where can I volunteer?”

While volunteer opportunities with the Consortium itself are typically available once a year during our annual Point-in-Time Count, many of our partner agencies and subgrantees offer volunteer opportunities year-round.

To make it easier to get involved, we’ve added a “Volunteer” link on our website (found under the “More” tab). There, community members can explore current volunteer opportunities and follow direct links to sign up with participating organizations.

Check it out—and share it with a friend!
