NEW SCV WATER STRATEGIC PLAN
The SCV Water Board of Directors has approved the 2024-28 Five-Year Strategic Plan, the outcome of a rigorous nine-month process incorporating feedback from the 2023 Customer Opinion Survey and public meetings. Developed collaboratively by SCV Water staff, management, and the Board of Directors, the plan outlines priorities such as infrastructure investments, environmental stewardship, and water quality.
The plan is divided into eight sections and focuses on goals like Exceptional Customer Service, Reliable Infrastructure, and Financial Resiliency. Board President Gary Martin expressed confidence in SCV Water staff to deliver on the plan, emphasizing the commitment to high-quality service. General Manager Matt Stone highlighted the plan's role in addressing challenges over the next five years, including water source reliability, climate change, and infrastructure investments.
Join SCV Water's Water Matters webinar on Monday, March 25, at 6 p.m. to learn about the Strategic Plan, which will shape the region's water management. The hour-long webinar will feature SCV Water's leadership team giving an overview of the plan, insights, and a live Q&A. You don't want to miss it!

SCV Water has initiated the Water Champions program, which supports businesses within the SCV Water service area. The program offers various resources and initiatives to promote water efficiency. Participants in this voluntary program will undergo a complimentary water-use efficiency check-up tailored to help businesses save water and cut costs by identifying and fixing leaks, offering water-saving devices, and more.
Highlighted within the program are testimonials from three local businesses:

STATE WATER PROJECT DRIVES CALIFORNIA'S ECONOMY
Article provided by CA Dept. of Water Resources (DWR)
If the State Water Project’s service area was its own nation, it would rank as the eighth largest economy in the world.
The California State Water Project is the backbone of California water infrastructure – delivering water supply, protecting against floods, generating clean hydropower, providing recreational opportunities and environmental benefits, and driving California's economy.
For the last 60 years the State Water Project has supported a service area with an economy worth $2.3 trillion. According to a study published in December 2023 by the California Department of Water Resources and the Berkeley Research Group – a global economic consulting firm – the State Water Project's service area would be the eighth largest economy in the world if it were its own nation.
