I had the opportunity to attend the 2018 Stem Cell & Regenerative Medicine Summit where the community’s top innovators, leaders and researchers in the field spoke about stem cell therapy, tissue engineering, organ printing and gene therapy. It was great to see presenters and old friends such as Dr. Doris Taylor of the Texas Heart Institute, Susan Solomon of the New York Stem Cell Foundation and Dr. Camillo Ricordi of the Cure Alliance. We are fortunate that all three have shared their work in moving cures and therapies forward at Missouri Cures’ events in St. Louis.
I also made new contacts such as Greg Simon the President of the Biden Cancer Initiative, an organization whose mission is to develop and accelerate progress in cancer prevention, detection, diagnosis and research. I also connected with Jason Stewart the new Director of Americans for Cures that advocates for stem cell research and therapy development. This organization promotes the 43 human clinical trials taking place in California. It was a remarkable meeting bringing together researchers, patient advocates and champions for regenerative medicine.
