The Evening Leader: Progress Edition
This year's Progress Edition will feature employees, businesses and organizations dedicated to making steps in the right direction for Auglaize County and the surrounding areas.

Arts Place
Hires New Director
Arts Place, Inc. recently hired Heather Dowell as the director of its Auglaize/Mercer Center in St. Marys. Heather is a resident of Celina. She has an Associates degree from Wright State University, and she previously worked at Great Lakes Insurance and Investments in Celina.

As Director of the Auglaize/Mercer Center, Heather will oversee day-to-day activities at the center, organize classes, events and exhibits and work with Arts Place Community Board to raise necessary funds. She will also take steps to grow existing programs and establish new activities and events to further nurture the creative spirit in the Auglaize/Mercer area. Dowell replaced Mary Novin who directed the Auglaize/Mercer center since 2012.
Grand Lake Photo Club Exhibit
The Grand Lake Photo Club will exhibit a collection of unique photography form local club members in the gallery at Arts Place Auglaize/Mercer Center. The exhibit will be on display form January 12 to February 9. The center's hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Read More...
Grand Lake Health System: 10th Annual Gala
Follow the yellow brick road for an evening of dancing, live music, silent and live auction, and casino to benefit Grand Lake Hospice. The Emerald Ball will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Romer's Catering and Entertainment Facility in Celina. Doors will open at 5:00 pm and dinner will be at 6:30 pm. You can make your reservations for this event by calling the JTD Hospital Foundation Office at 419-394-3387, ext. 3567.

You also have the opportunity to win a 2018 Dodge Challenger. Each ticket is $100 and only 1,000 tickets will be sold. The drawing will be held at the Hospice Gala, but you need not be present to win. There is a cash prize option as well. You can see the car on display at St. Marys Chrysler Dodge & Jeep. Bowl for Kids' Sake
Bowl for Kids' Sake is an event where friends, family, and co-workers get together for a bowling bash to support youth mentoring. The cost is a minimum pledge of $20.00 per bowler. However, you are encouraged to get more pledges. Everyone will bowl for 2 hours, receive a Bowl for Kids' Sake t-shirt and chance to win some prizes.

HR Roundtable: Recruitment and Retention: "Creating Your Secret Sauce"
The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with The Employers' Association for our next HR Roundtable on February 22 . Barb Utrup, Human Resources Consultant, will be presenting Recruitment and Retention: "Creating Your Secret Sauce." This idea sharing presentation will include discussion about recruitment, strong workforce, and retention and the ideas will set you apart from your competitors.

This HR Roundtable will be held at the St. Marys Utility Office Basement at 106 E. Spring St. in St. Marys. You may park behind the building and enter directly into the basement (access to the parking lot is via High Street). The cost is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for Non-Chamber members.
Annual Awards Banquet and Dinner

Join us for the 2017 St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet. Bring your poker face and good luck charm for an evening of food, networking, awards, and fun. On Thursday, March 8th, social hour will begin at 5:00 pm and dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. It will be held at the USWA Hall in St. Marys.

Early Bird tickets are $35 for an individual and $240 for a table of 8 and includes a bottle of wine. After February 24th, ticket costs increase to $40 for an individual and $280 for a table of 8 with a bottle of wine.
