Healthy Beverages in Child Care Study

The University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources is holding a study for both child care and family day care centers! The purpose of this study is to make child care and family day care centers healthier for children in California.

The study involves an online training on healthy beverages in child care, developed to engage child care providers on the implementation of AB 2084: Healthy Beverages in Child Care Act .
The University is looking to recruit Child Care Providers who work at child care or family day care centers that provide care for children ages 2-5 years. If eligible and enrolled, Child Care Providers would participate in a year-long study about healthier child care programs. In order to be eligible to participate, providers will need to have access to the Internet from a computer, tablet or smart phone. In addition, their child care or family day care center must be in operation for more than one year, provide at least 1 meal, or 1 snack  per day, and must not be a Head Start or State Preschool. If enrolled, Child Care Providers can receive up to $100 for their participation. Attached are additional materials that describe this study, including a flier and a question and answer document.

Child Care Assistance Programs
Child Care Links provides needed funds to families to pay for child care costs, through county, state and federal Subsidy and CalWORKs programs.

Funding for child care payments is available to eligible families, based on income, family size and need for services. Subsidy and CalWORKs programs (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids) serve children, infant to thirteen years of age. Child Care Links is a parental choice program, and allows parents/guardians to select Child Care Providers who will best meet the needs of their child/children and family.
