Tomorrow night! Movie night - this is our first Event in 2026! Please join us! Join Greenbrier River Watershed Association and Appalachian Headwaters for a FREE screening of the nature documentary, Hidden Rivers, on February 21st at the Lewis Theatre. Grab a date, a friend, or a family member and join us to learn about Appalachia's unique river ecosystems! 

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit the work of GB River Watershed Association and support our water quality testing projects.

Movie overview: Ten years in the making, Hidden Rivers is Freshwaters Illustrated’s newest feature film that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters. The film follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers throughout the region, and reveals both the beauty and vulnerability of these ecosystems.

*6:00 pm - Film starts after brief introduction by GRWA president, Jenna Breeckner

*6 - 7:00 pm - Film Screening

*7 - 7:30 pm - Discussion with our organizations about what we do! Sandwich board and finger foods to be available.

This Monday, February 23rd, Deni Elliott and Chris Chanlett, board members will be representing the GRWA for E-Day at the Capitol! We thank them for making the trip for us, and making contacts with our representatives.

We are thrilled that our newest board member, Kurt Johnson will be presenting a program on Climate change in the Greenbrier Valley! See you there!

April 12th! Our Make it Shine river clean up event will be at the Greenbrier River at Fort Springs! Meet at 9:00 am at the boat launch area. With enough volunteers, we will split up and have some go down to Anvil Rock for additional clean up. We will have coffee, hot chocolate, muffins AND participants will receive a free Hydro-Flask reusable water bottle! (See posting below) Stay tuned for more info!

We need your help! We are always looking for areas in the Greenbrier River Watershed that needs trash picked up and tires pulled. Please - if you know of an area where we need to organize a clean up and/or get tires pulled out of the river, fill this google form out. We are ready to schedule more sites for 2026 ! The Greenbrier River Watershed Association is happy to be a recipient of the Hydro Flask Parks for All donation of reusable Wide mouth insulated stainless steel water bottles. Kayak Auction/ Sale

This beautiful 21 ft Skookumchuck Tandem Kayak has been donated to the GRWA in honor of a local river steward to be used for fundraising. We still have this beautiful kayak available for purchase! Wanted: New Members

The Greenbrier River Watershed Association is dedicated to continuing our work to preserve and protect our unique environment. We need NEW members and hope YOU will consider joining us, OR please renew your current membership if you haven't yet for 2025. You will be supporting a busy group that monitors the Greenbrier River and it's tributaries, participates in educational events and gets out to pick up trash. Just scan the QR code and join. The Mountain Valley Pipeline poses a great risk to our forests and surrounding communities. We are also working to improve habitat connectivity for wildlife throughout Virginia and to ensure that all of our waterways are fully protected in accordance with the law.

Stop the Money Pipeline ~ If we can stop the flow of money, we can stop the flow of oil. In early 2020, thirty-two organizations came together to form the Stop the Money Pipeline coalition. We stand on the shoulders of years of movement work pressuring financial institutions to act on climate.
