Alliance Celebrates 34th Annual Dinner
More than 400 business and community leaders joined us on January 19 for the 34th Annual Dinner presented by Highwoods Properties and held at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The evening began with a National Anthem performance by TBARTA Executive Director Ray Chiaramonte, followed by the election of
2017-18 Board Members and reports from Alliance Outgoing President Enrique A. Woodroffe, FAIA and Incoming President Jay Botsch. Guests then welcomed Keynote Speaker State Senator Dana Young who shared information on key business issues facing Florida. Thank you to all who attended this year's dinner, and a special THANK YOU to our
sponsors for helping to make this event possible! You can check out the facebook photo event album
here. See yourself in a photo? Feel free to tag it and share with others!

One of the Alliance's top priorities is to transform
West Shore Blvd. into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly grand corridor with wider sidewalks, shade canopies and public spaces. At this week's Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) meeting, the BOCC directed County staff to expedite the Project Development and Environment Study for West Shore Blvd., as well as several other road projects in the County's 10-year transportation plan, in an effort to have these projects "shovel ready" should additional local, state or federal funding become available. The 10-year countywide plan with proposed project timelines will be presented to the BOCC at a workshop later this month, and a public hearing to formally approve the plan is scheduled for March 1.
