Hyatt House Now Open

Tampa Bay's first extended-stay Hyatt House property is officially open and welcoming guests. The six-floor, 145-room hotel is located in Avion Park and features 6,100 square feet of meeting and event space. Notable features include the hotel's H Bar offering creative cocktails and light bites, a covered outdoor event deck and pool and unique Tampa themed artwork created by local artists. Hyatt House Tampa Airport Westshore marks the 87th hotel in McKibbon Hospitality's overall management portfolio and brings their total numbers of rooms to 9,870.

Tampa is the #1 City for Bicycle Friendly Businesses

Tampa now ranks number one in the nation for number of Bicycle Friendly Businesses following the January 2021 awards by the League of American Bicyclists, the leading organization for bicycling advocates since 1880. There are 66 certified Bicycle Friendly Businesses (BFB) in Tampa following the awarding of nine new businesses in 2021. Eight businesses are in Westshore: AECOM, Atkins North America (new), Cigar City Brewing, McKibbon Hospitality and their Avion Park hotels Hampton Inn & Suites, Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites, and Tampa International Airport. AECOM and Cigar City are silver level honorees. The remainder are bronze.

The BFB program requires businesses to support and promote cycling to their customers, employees, and the community by providing bike parking, safety education, and promotions for retail customers who arrive by bike.

HART transit service returns to Cypress Street

HART restarted service on Cypress Street on January 24 with 30 minute service on Route 10 between Downtown Tampa and Tampa International Airport, via West Shore Blvd. HART also combined Town ‘N Country/TPA and TPA/Downtown Tampa route into one 30-minute route. Route 45 has been changed to better serve the University Area Transfer Center to WestShore Plaza. Check the new map and schedule.
