Hillsborough College Board of Trustees Approves Memorandum of Understanding with Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have officially identified their preferred location for a new ballpark. The Hillsborough College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a non-binding MOU with the Rays to pursue a partnership to redevelop the college’s approximately 113-acre Dale Mabry campus in Tampa in a project that would include a new stadium and mixed-use development. ART IN THE AIR: PUBLIC ART BANNER PROGRAM + FUNDRAISER

This month is the last chance to participate in the Art in the Air program. This placemaking initiative is an opportunity to transform Boy Scout Boulevard into a dynamic outdoor gallery. There are 53 banners within the corridor primed for sponsorship. Each sponsor's logo will be displayed on a banner from June to September 2026.

Proceeds raised through this program will be allocated to the Westshore District Foundation a 501(c)(3) nonprofit — making your sponsorship a tax-deductible contribution that directly fuels the growth of public art in our district. Westshore Alliance plans banner year for public art –

Call to Artists

We are currently accepting submissions for artists to showcase their work in the Art in the Air program. Selected designs will be displayed on the banners installed along Boy Scout Boulevard. The submission window is open until February 13, and selected artists will be notified on February 20. TRANSPORTATION + PLANNING

Work beginning on the Westshore Interchange

Construction began in January on the multi-year Westshore Interchange project. Early work activities are scheduled for utility coordination and relocation, site surveying, drainage, and roadway preparation. There are currently two planned traffic impacts on E. Frontage Rd for this phase of the project.

Tampa International Airport Awarded at Luncheon

The Westshore Alliance and Pedal Power Promoters presented Tampa International Airport CEO Michael Stephens and TPA executives with their League of American Bicyclists’ Silver Level Bicycle Friendly Business Award. Michael was the keynote speaker at our sold-out January Membership Luncheon. Pedal Power Promoters Founder Christine Acosta detailed the achievements of TPA in building bicycle infrastructure and supporting employees.
