15-18 We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God's original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels-everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body.

Hello from Portage,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Earl and I am the store manager at the Portage Salvation Army Family Thrift Store. After several years as a supervisor in factories, and fast food, I started working for the Salvation Army in April of 2012 in the production department. When I was asked to manage one of the stores, I accepted the position of manager at the Portage Rd Thrift Store.

One of the best parts of working for The Salvation Army is working for an organization that is there to help people. When the Salvation Army says "Doing the Most Good", it reminds me that there are good people in this wonderful movement that care for the people in our community.

When I have free time I enjoy going hunting and fishing, but nothing compares to creating memories with my family that will last a life time.

BENEFICIARY OF THE MONTH

Congratulations go out to Annemarie,

When Annemarie came to the ARC in August, she was leaving her physical and mentally dependency on alcohol that had totally taken over her life. This dependency caused her to lose everything. She was in a desperate situation when she came to the Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC).

Now in the safe positive environment at the ARC, she stated, "...I could get and stay sober. It got me back into a wealthy routine of work, taking care of myself and my recovery."

Now while she continues to her routine of work at the thrift store at the ARC, she is able to start looking and planning for the future.

When she was awarded the Beneficiary of the Month, she said, "I was surprised to receive the award, because there are so many other people deserving too."
