I promise you it will be a fun and busy year for 2019!

You all should have received notification of our new membership rates. We will be very active in our gallery and you will have many great opportunities to sell a lot of art this year!

Its time to start working on artwork for our Spring Show planned for April 26th - 28th.

You should have received notification of our group shows. This is new and if you are interested, read and submit your proposal.

Our Theme Art Show this year will be Art of the Animals. This will be our July show. Call for Entries is scheduled to go out in a few weeks. You may submit any type of animal-pets, farm, wildlife, birds, insects, reptiles, etc. There is no limit on the number of pieces you may enter. There will be a $5 installation fee for each piece. This art show is also a fundraiser! Artists receive 50% commission and Ahimsa Haven Animal Shelter (non-profit 501©3) will receive the other 50%. Proceeds will go towards the much needed medical costs for the animals. Let's help out these sick pets-you will feel a tremendous sense of gratification for helping out this wonderful cause!

We are in the process of planning a Music & Arts Festival for July! We will soon be making an official announcement and a call for artists and artisans. It will be from 1 pm - 7 pm.
Live music all day, theme show will be in the gallery. We are seeking artists and artisans to rent tent space on the grounds for only $10 a space. We will have food and beer, various food trucks, and art activities for children. If you are interested in tent space, let me know.

The Long View, New Paintings by Marjorie Morgan
The Greenfield Gallery, Greenfield, MA

Marjorie Morgan's dream landscapes come to The Greenfield Gallery

You wouldn't know, looking at the two dozen or more landscape paintings in Marjorie Morgan's new collection, The Long View, on display at The Greenfield Galley January 25 until March 15, that Morgan had started out trying to paint abstractly. Each landscape is an exploration of the same motif - a body of water bounded on the right by a steep-sided cliff, on the left by a low, sloping spit of land. Clouds mass in the sky and varying amounts of light spill from the sky onto the water. It seems to be early morning or perhaps the middle of the night.

"The Long View," new paintings by Marjorie Morgan on view at The Greenfield Gallery, January 25 through March 15. Soft opening with live music and treats, Friday, January 25, 6 to 8 p.m.; Artist reception with live music and treats, Friday, February 22, 6 to 8 p.m.

Hours: Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays, noon to 8 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information:

Lisa Ober-November 2 & 3 2019

Artist Lisa Ober, PSA, will teach a color-filled workshop on how to create beautifully detailed still life paintings in pastel. Lisa will take a step-by-step approach through her unique still life technique, from the first sketch to the finished piece using a photo reference (provided). Short demonstrations followed by plenty of class work time will ignite a passion for still life painting as students see their colorful paintings take shape. Participants will learn the skills needed to create believable and realistic still life paintings that are loaded with impressive details. Lisa will discuss developing keen observation skills, color selection, pastel application, and she will disclose her secrets for handling difficult surfaces such as glass or metal-giving special attention to this area.

Students will get plenty of personal attention, and Lisa's enthusiasm for still life painting is as contagious for the beginner as it is for the experienced painter. Regardless of favorite subject matter, students will leave with some hot tips for making their future paintings stand out in a crowd. If those in the class aren't already in love with still life painting, they will be by the end of this one!
