Concert for the Child Development Center (details to come) - Saturday, May 9

Children's Cold Weather Clothing, new or gently used, needed. Also Volunteers!

Cold weather has depleted the Annandale Mission Center's Children's Clothing Closet.  We are seeking donations of new or gently used children's clothing, suitable for children aged 2-18, of both genders. Donations can be left at the Mission Center, 7901 Heritage Drive, Annandale.

The Children's Clothing Closet currently operates with a few, but faithful, volunteers. The work is rewarding, and volunteers are needed to sort recent donations, pack bags of clothes for distribution, and distribute clothing. The days and times served are flexible and entirely at the individual's discretion. Distributions are on the third Thursday of every month.

Contact Pam Adams majmommd@msn.com or visit www.AnnandaleMissionCenter.org for more information.

CROP Hunger Walk

CROP Walk

The 2025 Annandale CROP Hunger Walk raised a total of $15,066 for Church World Service (CWS), which supports global work in sustainable development, refugee assistance, disaster response, and fighting hunger around the world and in the U.S. In late 2025, CWS gave ACCA two checks totaling $2729 to support our efforts to fight hunger and poverty locally.

Rebuilding Together Report

The 2026 National Rebuilding Day (NRD) will be held on April 25. ACCA will sponsor two home repair projects. Ravensworth Baptist, John Calvin Presbyterian, and Providence Presbyterian churches and volunteers will support one project, and St. Barnabas’ and Annandale United Methodist churches will support the second project. We expect Rebuilding Together Arlington-Fairfax-Falls Church (RT-AFF) to give us our project assignments in March. RT-AFF also continues its work to make houses and condominium units safer and more energy efficient for lower-income homeowners and for nonprofit group homes through its Rebuilding Together Express program. We welcome participation from other ACCA churches and volunteers. For more information, please contact: kcmittelholtz@gmail.com

Volunteers Needed

Food Delivery Drivers

ACCA is seeking food delivery drivers in Annandale/Bailey’s Crossroads. There is no fixed commitment. Drivers can work on a weekly or less frequent basis, as it suits their schedules. Drivers receive a survey at the beginning of the week where they can indicate their availability for the week. Deliveries are between 1:30 and about 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Drivers receive food referrals from the food captain, contact the client to ensure they will be home, pick up pre-packed food at the pantry, and drive to the client’s residence. The time involved is usually less than an hour. For further information, complete the form or email us at volunteers@accacares.org

Drivers for Medical Appointments

We partner with the Shepherd Center of Annandale/Springfield to provide critical transportation. We need volunteer drivers who drive local seniors in Annandale, Springfield, and sections of Alexandria to medical appointments during the week and grocery shopping on weekends. Even if you have a limited amount of time to volunteer, this is a wonderful way to touch the lives of people who desperately need this service. You determine when, where, and how often you drive.

If interested, please visit this web page, contact the Shepherd's Center at 703-941-1419 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, or email shepherdscas@vacoxmail.com. This program is a joint effort between Shepherd's Center of Annandale, Springfield, and ACCA.

ACCA is an alliance of 27 churches in the Annandale community and adjacent areas. The purpose is to unite all Christians of the community to promote and sponsor Christian social action. The guiding principle is doing what Jesus would do.”
All ACCA services, except the Child Development Center, are provided by volunteers at no cost to those who need them. To request assistance, contact the Fairfax County Coordinated Services Planning office at 703-222-0880.

Can you help? ACCA needs volunteers to help with a variety of programs. Complete the form.

ACCA remains committed to the challenge of Jesus, as described in Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
