Family Pathfinders started off the New Year with National Mentoring Month. In honor of all our amazing Mentors we would like to share with you *Trish's story. With positive encouragement from her Mentor, Trish was able to overcome homelessness and move into her own apartment last month. Mentoring is about empowering others to be their best possible self. Trish is well on her way!
This month we are saying goodbye to a staff member who helped grow our Financial Capability program and put Family Pathfinders on the map for Financial Coaching. We know you will all join us in saying goodbye to Tasha and wishing her the best of luck.

January was National Mentoring Month and we are proud to share with you *Trish's story of how she was able to overcome homelessness to move toward stability with encouragement and support from her mentor.
Trish was accepted into the Mentoring Program in May of last year. She and her two children were living with a family member and in desperate need of finding permanent housing. Without a fixed home and making only minimum wage, Trish and her children found themselves in the Presbyterian Night Shelter.
She was matched with Gina, a Mentor who is passionate about rebuilding families to live successful lives. Trish's primary concern was housing. Together, they created an action plan to find housing and set job goals. We are excited to announce that on January 24th Trish and her children moved into their own apartment with furniture her Mentor was able to obtain. Trish is now looking into becoming a Certified Nurse's Assistant and has met with our Financial Coaching staff to learn more about the importance of building money management skills.
We congratulate Trish on her new successes. Thank you to all our Mentors and Financial Coaches for rebuilding families to live successful lives!
*name has been changed to protect the identity of the client.
