LMM Board Welcomes New Member

New LMM Board Member, Yvonne Sims
Welcome to one of the newest members of the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry Board of Directors, Yvonne Sims! Yvonne was sworn into the LMM Board at the end of 2019.

She currently  serves as an Adult Educator in the ABLE/G.E.D. program at Cuyahoga Community College and has been with the institution since 2012. She is also a licensed guidance counselor and has 38-years of experience in education both as a guidance counselor and classroom teacher.

She serves as a Peer Counselor Advisor at the Diversity Center, and has done so since 1992. She is affiliated with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.'s Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter and is co-chair of the Delta G.E.M.S Project Committee.

Yvonne has worked as a guidance counselor in the past for grades K - 12 for the districts of Cleveland Heights and Bedford, among other schools. She has also been employed with higher education institutions including Case Western Reserve and Cleveland State Universities.

Yvonne has a Master of Education degree from Cleveland State University and Bachelor of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University.

Protect Our Health & Human Services: Issue 33


Cuyahoga County's Health and Human Services Levy (Issue 33) will be on the March 17 ballot. The HHS levy provides critical funding for services that benefit LMM program participants including housing and shelter, older Americans, mental health and addiction services and emergency health care.

Katie Ussin of News 5 Cleveland covered the great work being done in the computer lab at LMM's Men's Shelter at 2100 Lakeside. The computer lab offers great opportunities for not only the men staying at the shelter looking to build their resume, apply to jobs and find housing opportunities, but for volunteers that are looking to make a difference.
