The Food Bank of Manatee is a PLUS program of Meals on Wheels PLUS. As an independent food bank and the only food bank based in Manatee County, we rely 100% on donations from the community to keep our shelves stocked! When your business, school, church, or civic organization schedules a food drive, we can guarantee that any food collected will make your food drive a success! With over 100 local pantry partners throughout our community, we will get the food into the hands and tummies of those who need it! When you see the yellow barrels with The Food Bank of Manatee logo, you can be 100% certain that the items you donate are staying right here in our county! Please host a food drive and please donate where you see our yellow barrels!
One of our Home-delivered Meals clients is moving to an assisted living facility and called to let us know that she “…feels blessed to have had Meals on Wheels PLUS through the years,” and went on to say how the services we provide have impacted and improved her health, social outlook, and overall wellbeing. This is a comment we wanted to share because it reflects our mission in such a succinct way. The PLUS programs matter in the lives of real people, living right here in our community. Please donate to support our lifesaving and life-changing programs!

One of the most popular games played at Daybreak Adult Day Center is Bingo! Did you know that this game is not only fun for seniors to play, but that it also improves cognitive function and eye-hand coordination. In fact, a recent study indicated that social activities, like playing Bingo, are associated with a 38% lower risk of developing dementia! You can read more about the study here. In addition, the Daybreak winners also receive prizes which adds to the fun! It's a win-win!

When the Food Bank of Manatee, a PLUS Program of Meals on Wheels PLUS, receives 1 pound of non-perishable food items, we get excited. We know that we can provide one meal with one pound of food. So just imagine how excited we got when we received 253 pounds of non-perishable food items from the employees at Spirit Movers, a well-known and established moving company in Bradenton. They hosted a food drive with their employees and customers and had tremendous results! Way to go, Spirit Movers! Together, #WeFeedManatee!

On January 17th, we were honored to welcome a group of volunteers from Vistex Inc. who joined us at The Food Bank of Manatee for a day of service in memory of their late CEO. Following his tragic passing, they chose to honor his legacy by supporting a cause that was close to his heart—food security. Together, they packed and sorted food, ensuring that local families in need would have access to essential resources. Their compassion and teamwork were a powerful tribute, turning loss into meaningful action that will make a lasting impact on our community. Thank you, Team Vistex!
