Register Now: National Cancer Survivors Day is June 1

 

On Sunday, June 1, 2014, Minnesota Oncology will join hundreds of communities worldwide in celebrating life as part of the 27th annual National Cancer Survivors Day�. Cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends, and healthcare professionals will unite in this symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful, productive, and  inspiring.  

 

There are nearly 14 million cancer survivors in the United States. Please join us to celebrate survivors of all ages and types of cancer and to remember those who lost their lives to cancer. Hope in Motion will take place on June 1, 2014, at Normandale Lake Park in Bloomington, MN. Prices increase on March 1, so register now for the lowest rates! Learn more and register... Sugar

"A Hug in Every Blanket": Local School Service Project Keeps Minnesota Oncology Patients Warm


Edina Clinic patients are staying warm and cozy thanks to a Lyndale Community School service project.   Fourth and fifth graders from Mrs. Gant's and Mrs. Grussendorf's classes made and donated blankets to patients.

Dr. Kiran Lassi Joins Minnesota Oncology

Minnesota Oncology is pleased to announce the association of Kiran Lassi, M.D. with  the practice of Medical Oncology/Hematology at the Plymouth WestHealth Clinic beginning February 15, 2014.

Dr. Lassi's areas of special interest are breast cancer, genitourinary cancers such as prostate cancer, lymphomas, and benign hematology.

Growing up in a Minneapolis suburb, my baby boomer buddies and I spent our days playing summer baseball on the neighborhood field, football in the fall, and hockey on our local pond in the winter. But as I entered my teens, new fears crept into my life, and I would be forever changed. Beyond the anxiety over nuclear weapons and the Kennedy assassinations was the reality of cancer. My best friend died of acute leukemia when we were juniors in high school.      Read more... Tea

A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation will host a Women's Wellness Tea with speakers focused on Mind, Body and Balance for better health. Minnesota Oncology is pleased to sponsor this event.

Angel Foundation 2014 Gala Raises a Record $511,000

More than 700 attendees at Minneapolis-based Angel Foundation's 12th annual Angel Gala Jan. 25 raised a record $511,000 at the Hilton Minneapolis. The funds raised will help the nonprofit organization provide emergency financial assistance, education and support for local adults with cancer and their families.

Coon Rapids Clinic Opens in New Location on Feb. 10 

 

Minnesota Oncology's Coon Rapids Clinic will be moving down the street from its current location to the new Mercy Medical Center at 11850 Blackfoot St. NW, Suite 100. Our new clinic space will open Monday, Feb. 10. 


Please note: The current Coon Rapids location will be closed the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 6 and all day on Friday, Feb. 7 for relocation.
