February

Redwood Coast Village

Voice

Dear Villagers,

Well, we started out January kinda RUFF! "Woof" that is, as our newest volunteer, Millie the therapy Newfoundland, came over for a visit. She walked slowly between Adult Day Health Services Program participants, stopping for lots of petting along the way! See some photos below.

Take a gander at one of the many offerings for the month of February such as a McKinleyville exhibition, a FUN night in Blue Lake, a Fortuna fashion show, a dunes volunteer restoration work day, and a conversation on altruism at Cal Poly Humboldt.

The Audubon Society is hosting an annual banquet you might enjoy, or take in an acoustic guitar concert at the Arcata Playhouse.

There's plenty more, but we're very excited about the Humboldt County Library's new home delivery system! All you need is a card, check them out!

Art classes are still in swing with Louise Bacon-Ogden and look over the McKinleyville Senior Center's list of activities while you scroll!

If you're interested in knowing more about Redwood Coast Village and its services, please give us a call Monday through Friday from 10am to 2pm. We're at 707 443-9747 x1283, we're always looking for volunteers!

Until next month, enjoy February in Humboldt!

It's a Dog's World!

In January, two RCV volunteers stopped by the Adult Day Health Services Program and visited with lots of their participants! Tom & Randi Mitchell are part time volunteers who reside in Massachusetts and come out to Humboldt every year to visit and shake off those cold winter days back home.

While they are here, they volunteer for RCV, stacking wood, picking apples and doing a variety of village tasks that need to get done. Oh, and they also enjoy taking their therapy Newfoundland dog, Millie, around to visit! Welcome back Randi & Tom! Pictured below is Adult Day Health Services Program participant, Linda R. with Millie.
