February News for Our Teachers

This month, we are very pleased to share an update on the Proposed Accountability Manual released by the TEA and our application for TEA approval as well as other upcoming events.

With end of year announcements, the transition to 2025-26 and our pending TEA application, we hope that you will follow us on our social media accounts for timely updates!

TEA Accountability Manual and TCB Application for Approval

Last year, we communicated with you regarding the planned changes for College Preparatory courses in the TEA’s Proposed Accountability Manual, including the requirement that, starting with 2026 graduates, all College Prep courses must be approved by the TEA to count in A-F accountability.

Following an updated TEA communication issued on January 8, we are very pleased to share that our Texas College Bridge application for TEA approval was submitted by the January 31st deadline. More information on the application review process, including a timeline, can be found here on the TEA website.

The TEA has indicated that we will receive a notification in March regarding the status of the application. As soon as we receive that notice, we will post an update to our social channels and via email.

Greenlight Training for Students

In an effort to offer more support to students with GreenLight and access to their certificates, we are offering training sessions for students.  You are more than welcome to join these sessions to be more helpful to your students.  There’s no registration for these.

You and your students can join using the following link:

Conquering Essays

As you know, TCB English course students must have a passing essay in addition to stage one and two at 90% mastery for them to earn their ELA certification of completion. We have been and will continue to reach out to districts with high numbers of students who only need the essay for completion.

We want to ensure all students receive their TSI exemption and do not want the essay to be the reason they miss out. It is heartbreaking when students do their part, but because their essay was not graded, they miss out on getting their TSI exemption.

If you are having trouble finding and/or grading student essays, you can always find assistance in our help center.
