Do you know of any parents or caregivers of Deaf, Deaf/Blind or Hard of Hearing children who are interested in building their leadership skills? Washington State Hands and Voices and Seattle Children's Center for Children with Special Needs are holding a free training  in Spokane! This training will help parents effectively participate in meetings, recognize the ways and reasons for sharing their story with purpose and more.

Deadline for Registration: February 8th
Workshop Date: Saturday February 10th.

Sweetheart Dance

The Arc invites everyone with  developmental disabilities to come and enjoy a fun and romantic evening full of food, music, and dancing!

Are you the parent of a special needs child who has been on the journey for a while?
Do you want to help and support others newer to the journey?
Train to be a Helping Parent, as part of the Parent to Parent Program at The Arc of Tri-Cities.
The role of a Helping Parent is: "To provide initial emotional support and resource
information to a parent of a child with a disability and/or special health care needs."

SADL (Self Advocates Developing Leadership) and The Arc of Tri-Cities are sponsoring a LEGO Competition during the first week of April.
Everyone ages 6+ is invited to come participate in the fun and games!

Zumba Class Volunteers Needed
Modern Living holds a weekly Zumba class at the Tri-City Court Club for adults with Developmental Disabilities.The class is held every Tuesday, from 4:30 - 5 PM. It is very popular and has grown tremendously over the last year. Delayna, the class instructor is looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to come by every Tuesday to help her and her parent volunteers facilitate the class.
