The International Center is delighted to extend a warm invitation to you for our highly anticipated 2024 Annual Meeting, taking place at the Hine Hall Auditorium on Tuesday, March 5th, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

The past year marked a significant milestone for The Center as we celebrated our 50th anniversary. Join us as we reflect on the memorable moments of this milestone and delve into the accomplishments of each of the five 50th Anniversary projects. Now, our sights are set on the future, and we are eager to share our exciting plans for 2024, including the announcement of this year's International Citizen of the Year!

We are honored to feature distinguished guest speakers at the event, including Indiana University President, Pamela Whitten, and President and CEO of TechPoint, Ting Gootee, Indiana University Indianapolis Associate Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Dr. Hilary Kahn, and Cummins Inc. Director of Global Right Environment, Jasmin French (emcee). Their insights promise to enrich our discussions and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the occasion. Feb. 16: Global Ties U.S. Citizen Diplomacy Day

February 16 is Citizen Diplomacy Day, a date first noted by the U.S. Congress in 2011 to mark the 50th anniversary of Global Ties U.S. and its Network’s important role in building peer-to-peer connections through international exchange. This day is marked with a social media campaign that engages U.S. and international organizations through story sharing. The global community is encouraged to post stories and images that elevate and celebrate our work and its impact locally and globally. In the annals of history, the year 1824 marked a momentous occasion – President James Monroe’s diplomatic efforts that led to the normalization of relations between Indiana and Brazil. As we commemorate the 200th anniversary of this milestone, it becomes imperative to explore the profound significance of the enduring relationship between these two regions and the lasting impact it has had on economic, cultural, and diplomatic fronts. We recently hosted an Indiana Sister Cities meeting, where we discussed citizen diplomacy, youth and education, arts and culture, Motorsports, and municipal exchange. Together, we are shaping a future built on friendship, understanding, and shared prosperity. Let's continue this journey hand in hand, making the Indianapolis-Northamptonshire Sister City partnership truly remarkable!

We were delighted to host a panel discussion with the Crossroads of America Council, Boy Scouts of America last week about intercultural engagement opportunities with Muslim, Latino, and Burmese populations in central Indiana.
