The ERC will host an open house on
Friday, February 16
from
5:00-8:00PM to celebrate the start of the organization's 25th year. Swing by and learn how local animals are affected by the less than average snowpack, solve animal tracking mysteries, ask questions about recycling in the Wood River Valley, and pick up native seed packets for the spring.
Complimentary beverages will be served and all ages are welcome (activities are family-friendly!).

Winter Tracking
2018 Stories from the Snow
This winter, the ERC facilitated three Winter Tracking Workshops hosted by local tracker extraordinaire, Ann Christensen. The low snowpack did not stop participants from enjoying our backcountry trails and investigating the stories left in the snow by local animals.

Did You Know: Recycling
Is glass currently recycled in Blaine County?
No.
However, instead of being transported with the rest of our garbage to the Milner Butte Landfill near Burley (100+ miles away!), it is diverted into an inert pit at Ohio Gulch where it is used as fill for construction waste. Here, it breaks down, does not take up valuable landfill space, and reduces transport emissions. The ERC recommends diverting your glass! Click herefor valley-wide glass drop-off locations.
Questions about recycling? Call the ERC at
(208) 726-4333 or the Blaine County Recycle Center at
(208) 788-0880.
The ERC's
Recycling Outreach & Action program works with Blaine County's recycling program, 5B Recycles, and Clear Creek Disposal to conduct outreach on best recycling practices, facilitate recycling at community events, and provides a collection site for some recyclables.
