Business Supports & Resources
There's a variety of funding and support programs available to businesses that have seen a significant reduction in revenues due to the pandemic. You can find more programs and support options on our website.
Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant *Available until March 31, 2021
Offers assistance to Alberta businesses, cooperatives and non-profits that were ordered to close or curtail operations due to the pandemic and experienced a revenue reduction of at least 30%. Eligible businesses must apply for all payments before March 31, 2021.
Alberta's Enhanced COVID-19 Business Benefit *Available April 2021
Businesses that can demonstrate a revenue reduction of 60% or more will be eligible to receive 15% of their monthly revenue, up to a maximum of $10,000. The Enhanced COVID-19 Business Benefit is intended to provide additional support in cases where federal programs fall short.

Restriction Benchmarks
Step 1 <600 hospitalizations
Restrictions were eased on February 8, 2021, to allow restaurants, indoor fitness, and children's support and performance activities to reopen with safety measures in place.

Businesses that fall within Stage 1 must refer to the guidelines outlined here.

What to expect going forward

The Government of Alberta has noted there will be a minimum of three weeks between steps. This benchmark structure is intended to provide some certainty as businesses patiently wait for restrictions to be eased. An update on Stage 2 is expected on March 1 or later.
Government of Alberta Reinstates Video Lottery Terminals in Stony Plain
Eligible businesses in Stony Plain can now request permission from the Alberta Liquor and Gaming Commission (AGLC) to allow Video Lottery Terminals in their business.
Regional Business Impact and Recovery Survey Results
The Regional Business Impact Survey is the third survey from the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber to assess the implications of COVID-19 on the local business community. The results provide insight into how our Region's local business community have been dealing with the economic impacts of the pandemic.
Environmental Action Survey
The Town of Stony Plain is seeking your input on our Environmental Master Plan. The survey will be open until March 3, 2021.

In an effort to help further connect entrepreneurs with property options in Stony Plain, the Town has created an online profile for available commercial and industrial properties.

International Women's Day - March 8

The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber is hosting the International Women's Day Celebration on March 8, 2021, to recognize all of the incredible women in our region, business owners, care workers, homemakers, and leaders!

The event includes a chat with Angela Santiago, Co-founder of The Little Potato Company. Five local women will also be recognized as Women of Influence for the great successes they are championing in our region. These women are leaders in their field, forging the way forward in their chosen industries, and some have taken their business globally.

State of the Region - March 11
The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomes Mayor William Choy of the Town of Stony Plain, Mayor Stuart Houston of the City of Spruce Grove, and Mayor Rod Shaigec of Parkland County as guest presenters for the Annual State of the Region Address. A professional production crew will live-stream this event through the Chamber's social media accounts. The Mayor's are the highlight of the evening as they share with our guests the future focused developments and plans for the region.

The State of the Region Address is an opportunity to recognize the region's accomplishments, share priorities for the future, and acknowledge our challenges. 
Western Innovation Forum - March 2-4
The Western Innovation Forum (WIF) promotes Canadian capabilities in the aerospace, marine, and defence industries. The event focuses on connecting innovators to companies and researchers with business and innovation-driven investment opportunities.

WIF 2021 will take place March 2 to 4, and will be a virtual event. This will make it easier for organizations from across western Canada and around the world to participate, providing a great networking opportunity.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Webinars
Join the Greater Parkland Regional Chamber and Stony Plain FCSS for their Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Webinar series. The series aims to support workplace diversity. The first webinar is on March 18.
