Africa Centre is the largest pan-African non-profit organization in western Canada, serving as a community hub that provides a multitude of programs.

They have also partnered with the Alberta Black Therapist Network to offer free therapy to Black Albertan individuals, families, couples and children.

The Affordability Action Plan is a one-time supplement for Albertans struggling with inflation and the high cost of living. Persons with disabilities, and families with children with disabilities are disproportionately affected by economic hardship.


You can apply for the Affordability Payments program until June 30, 2023.


  • Families with household incomes under $180,000 can apply for $600 per child under 18.
  • Seniors who have household incomes under $180,000 and do not receive the Alberta Seniors Benefit can apply for $600 per person.

Math Through Stories


"The Young Mathematical Story Author (YMSA) competition is the world's first annual international competition set up to encourage young mathematics learners (8-15 years old) from around the world to embed their mathematics learning in a meaningful and engaging context through creating their own mathematical story picture books."


Neurodivergent students think differently; this is a great opportunity to have them engage with a math concept in a unique way. Also, this website offers a resource library of over 500 math story books on 44 math topics for ages 3 to 18.
