A Huge Thank You!
King of Glory recently received a grant from Advent Lutheran Church (in Spokane, WA) towards equipment for our recording studio. The grant allowed us to purchase a video camera, a microphone, a green screen, lighting, and some sound tiles. We intend to use this equipment to help us achieve our goal as a hybrid church.
We wish to thank Advent Lutheran for their kindness and generosity!

Little Library
The Little Library could use some more book donations, especially children's books and perhaps children's books of diverse cultures. The donation boxes are in the hall under the coat rack.
People of the community are definitely enjoying this KOG service!

Dear KOG Friends,
After four months living out of our suitcases, we have finally come to rest in our new home at Harbour Pointe Senior Living in Mukilteo, WA.We were in a temporary apartment our first month here, so could not really unpack until one week ago. We greatly miss fellowship with you at KOG, where we have been spiritually nurtured since 2005. Our special thanks to Pastor Connie and all you dear friends who blessed us on our way and who have been praying for us and with whom we have shared the Bread of Life together. Thank you for laying your hands upon us as we entrust our lives again and always into the hands of the Lord our Keeper and Guardian (Ps 121), who watches over our going out and our coming in. Thank you for the gift in our honor of a herd of goats that will enhance the livelihood of sisters and brothers in Africa and wherever they find their new home.
Already we've been visited here by Tom and Teresa Schmalz We dare to hope that was a foretaste of many visits to come from our KOG Family. We hope to see some of you via zoom for book studies in the weeks ahead. You are in our daily morning prayers!

Join a CCL Boise book discussion for an engaging dialogue about the 2021 book
Saving Us: A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing
by Katharine Hayhoe.
Called “one of the nation’s most effective communicators on climate change,” Hayhoe knows how to navigate all sides of the conversation about our changing climate. A Canadian climate scientist (and CCL Advisory Board Member) living in Texas, she negotiates distrust of data, indifference, and resistance to proposed solutions with ease.
Over the past 15 years Hayhoe has found that the most important thing we can do to address the problem is talk about it—and she wants to teach us how. Drawing on research and personal stories, the book is a multilayered look at science, faith, and human psychology. Bold and pragmatic, it’s a vital contribution to the climate discussion.
They will gather on Zoom on three successive Mondays:
Feb 28, Mar 7, and Mar 14 from 4:30-5:45 MT.
The discussion will be facilitated by CCL Boise volunteer Jim Grunow.
No advance registration is needed, but contact Jim to get the Zoom link and more details. jamesggrunow@gmail.com or text 208-571-6309.

Free Meal News
Last month’s free meal fed about 40 diners including some of the tax preparers. We used up the ham from December and one of the 7 turkeys we were given from the Meridian Food Bank. The diners enjoyed homemade pea soup, homemade turkey dumpling soup, ham salad sandwiches, and roasted turkey sandwiches. The compliments were numerous. Due to Crisis Standards of Care being re-implemented, the meal was take-out. The next free meal will be Saturday, February 26th. We will be using another of the turkeys and Anise Dahlquist will be making her famous turkey tetrazzini. If you would like to help cook, please arrive around 10 AM or if you are helping to serve, arrive at 11:30 AM. We will be serving the meals take-out until the Crisis Standards of Care are lifted.

Samson, Isabelle, and Their Children’s Faith Journey
The Social Justice Committee’s project for 2021 has been completed. A professional videographer, Stephanie Cullen, recorded and edited Samson Madjitoloum, Isabelle Datoloum, and their children’s faith journey. The DVD will be presented to the congregation the three first Sundays in February, in between the services.
This will be an opportunity for you to know Samson and his family in a better and deeper way. The parents, Samson and Isabelle, were born in Central Africa Republic. They moved to Cameroun when the war made it impossible for them to stay in their native country. A few years later, they were given a chance to move to America, and landed in Boise, Idaho. They chose King of Glory as their church.
They will speak of their struggles and their joys, as well as the importance of their faith and King of Glory in their life.
February 20: Isabelle’s Story
There will be time at the end of each session to ask questions and make comments.
We are also inviting the youth to attend the presentation and participate in the conversation.
For the members who are not attending the church in person, there will be 2 DVDs available for check up at the church library.
