February 2024 - Featuring Wilson's Bakery & Cafe

Together, We Can Do It

This month, we are highlighting Wilson’s Bakery & Cafe and the difference it makes to the town and the people who work there.

We opened a coffee shop in our town because High Watch has been part of this community since 1939. Having a little piece of High Watch in the heart of Kent serves several purposes. Now, thousands of visitors every year will see how High Watch is impacting the community and the difference we are making.

In addition, our guests who want to gain work experience are welcome to join the Wilsons' team. Not only do Wilson's staff learn about teamwork and commitment, but they also learn to live sober lives with the support of their colleagues.

Brian Verrilli leads the team and always greets you with a smile! While in the kitchen, Taylor Darling and his team create unique dishes! The latest addition is Smash Burger Friday! If you haven’t tried it yet, you must!

If you haven't had a chance to stop by Wilson's yet, we invite you to do so! Wilson's is open from 7 AM to 4 PM, daily except Wednesday.

SMASH

BURGER FRIDAY!

Enjoy a mouth-watering burger with double patties, shredded lettuce, tomato, house pickles, special sauce, and American cheese, all nestled between two soft brioche buns. Absolutely delicious!🍔✨

From the Archive

With a vision of creating a retreat place for anyone needing healing, Sister Francis purchased farmland in Kent, CT, in 1926. She named it Joy Farm. Joy Farm’s oldest building, an 18th-century farmhouse, was called the Mother House. Sister Francis designated one chapel room to provide healing and worship services. The Mother House offered “love, companionship, comforting, pity and tenderness” to all who came. Today, this building remains the spiritual center of High Watch housing the Chapel and offering comfort to all needing healing.
