VegFest Changes Lives and A Lot More!
|
|
One of the easiest and best ways for you to get your friends and family to move toward a plant-based diet is to simply bring them to VegFest. Past surveys show that the majority of attendees take steps toward reducing or eliminating animal foods from their diet after experiencing this life-changing event!
We listened to all of your suggestions and are working hard to make this our biggest and best VegFest ever! Not only are we bringing back popular speakers such as Alicia Silverstone and Dr. Greger, but we have also doubled the hall space, widened the aisles, added more seating, improved the Kids Zone, and expanded the food court with more free samples!
Get your tickets early and save.
Purchase Tickets Here
for only $12.50 in advance (plus a small Eventbrite processing fee) or $17 at the door. You can also become a
VegMichigan Member
and get into VegFest for free while enjoying other great benefits! VegFest is set for April 28th (10:30am - 5pm).
In addition, 100% of the money raised at VegFest supports VegMichigan's work year round to grow the plant-based movement in Michigan. Funds raised have given us the ability to hire two new staff members and to support our new library initiative, which you can read more about below.

First Free Library Presentations A Big Success
|
|
VegMichigan's new free library presentations and vegan food tastings are targeted to individuals who are new to plant-based eating. Our presenter will talk about the general health, ethical, and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, followed up by a free vegan food tasting made up of some healthy plant-based dishes and vegan comfort foods.
Dr. Joel Kahn kicked off our new initiative when he spoke twice to packed rooms at the Northville District Library in January. A delicious plant-based food sampling from Greenspace & Go showed attendees just how delicious eating vegan is! Our exit surveys showed that attendees found the event to be very beneficial.
Click on the links below for more information about future programs and to find out how to register. We have many additional programs in the works that will be announced soon so be sure to check out VegMichigan's
calendar
for updates. These programs are free to the public but are expensive to run. We appreciate your support!

New Monthly Feature: Dr. Kahn's Health Corner
|
|
We're pleased to announce a new monthly e-newsletter feature from contributor, Dr. Joel Kahn. His
Health Corner
column will highlight doctor-approved ways to protect your health through plant-based nutrition.
A 1,000-mile journey on your plant-based diet begins with a single step, and, for many, conquering breakfast is that first step. Starting the day with a nutritious and filling meal free of animal products may be enough of a change from something you have been grabbing at the gas station or coffee shop to keep you focused on moving forward to manage lunch, dinner, snacks, and travel. Here are five of my favorite morning meals that are simple to make, delicious, nutritious, and all plant-based.
