MFA Longevity Market Report
News and insights from thought leaders in the longevity economy

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As MFA celebrates its 20th year in business, it is a time of excitement, new momentum, and reflection. We are excited to continue working with our sponsors on our upcoming podcasts and events – including AARP, GetSetUp, iN2L, Nationwide, WAHVE, Posit Science, Constant Companion, and more.
It is also incredibly exciting to see the orchestra of talent and funding coming into the longevity marketplace. New funders, including the ones we spoke with in the latest Longevity Deal Talk podcast, are fostering innovation. And other major players, like MacKenzie Scott (who contributed $8 million to the nonprofit National Council on Aging) and Melinda French Gates (who is funding the Techstars Future of Longevity incubator), are driving additional funding and attention to this sector.
Finally, I would like to take a moment to recognize the loss of a woman who was a force in the field of aging and caregiving, Gail Gibson Hunt. Gail and I served together twice at the White House Conference on Aging. She was an ardent advocate for caregiving and will be dearly missed.
Warmly,
Mary

AARP Fights Scams
Scam activity in the U.S. has skyrocketed, with estimated losses reaching as high as $56 billion. And although scammers target all generations alike, when older Americans are exploited, the impacts can be especially severe at a time of life when they are least able to recover financially. “The message should be clear to our leaders: It’s time to invest in a coordinated, full-scale approach to combat this scourge. We should be doing much more to protect innocent Americans,” says Nancy LeaMond, AARP’s Chief Advocacy & Engagement Officer. AARP’s Fraud Watch Network is leading the charge in this space, alerting and educating millions of consumers on the dangers of various fraud and directly assisting thousands of fraud victims through trained fraud specialists.
