~To empower, educate and connect those living with bilateral upper limb loss
Executive Director's Message

Spouses, family members and caregivers, mark your calendars!  We hope you will join us on February 17th for a very special Zoom. You may be new to caring for someone living without both arms or you may have been managing it for the past 20 years, either way this zoom is for you! For those caregivers/loved ones who have everything figured out or have some time under their belt, this is a great opportunity to help someone new or early in the process.  For those new in the process, this is a great opportunity to make connections, share your feelings, learn from others or feel free to just listen in instead.

See below for more information on the monthly zoom meetings as well as updates on Ronnie's successful Bowling Tournament, the Virtual Skills for Life Workshop in October and the Adaptive Equipment Publication.

Enhancing Skills for Life, 501c3, was formed in 2016 to support those missing both arms or all four limbs. Please stay subscribed to these emails and bookmark our website to keep up to date with the latest information in our organization. Please forward this email to friends, family and colleagues.
February Zoom Meetings-
Two This Month!

We have been hosting Tips n Tricks Zoom meetings since May 2020 and have covered kitchen gadgets, technology hacks, dressing, bathing, toileting, taking care of your caretaker, coping & grief, as well as make-up & hair.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 17, 2021
at 4pm central for a "Caregiver/Loved One Meetup", moderated by Judy Benitez, Mike
Lentz and Scott Zweigel.  This zoom is specifically for those involved in caring for or supporting someone with limb loss/limb difference. Please make sure your loved one/caregiver is aware of this zoom.  They can come to share their thoughts, ask questions or just listen in. We are looking to turn this into a quarterly get together for those interested.

Join us again on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 4pm for
"Hobbies, What do you do for Fun?" moderated by Annae Jones. Share your hobbies and what you do to de-stress or do for fun. Share your creations or adaptations too!

Click here to request zoom login information.  If you are a member of the Skills for Life Facebook private group, the login information is posted there.  The link stays the same every month. Keep in mind some zooms are casual and some are more serious, recordings may or may not take place.
Bowling Tournament Recap

Ronnie Hindsman held his annual bowling tournament February 6-7, 2021.
Thanks to everyone who bowled, donated money or items and just supported this event in general! What a fun surprise to have JJ and Sharon Orsak join us! Once an avid bowler, this was JJs first time to bowl since his accident 2 years ago. He was already bowling strikes by the 3rd frame of his first game! With proceeds from raffle items, auction items and bowling entries, Ronnie raised a little over $16,000 this year! This brings his fundraising total over the past 3 years to about $37,000. All of the proceeds will go towards Enhancing Skills for Life, 501c3 and the Skills for Life Workshops/Programs. We can't wait to have our Skills for Life community safely come out and join us in full force next year! See you February 2022!
