Dear (Contact)

Although it is still winter at Naramata Centre,  our work is focused on the upcoming spring, summer and fall seasons.

Read on for details.

Have You Done It Yet?
It is likely on your mind, but have you signed up for 2018 programs and/or accommodations at Naramata Centre yet? Registration opened February 6th and many folks are signing up via our online registration system. Some families are registering sizable groups for various weeks this summer. So, if you have a favorite time to come and favorite cabins to stay in, now is the time to register for your week(s) and book your programs!

For May and June, go to Spring.

For July and August, go to Summer and click on the week that you would like to come. Look for the Register Now button.

For September and October, go to Fall to book a personal retreat and/or a program.

Programs For Children/Teens/Adults
Each week this summer has delightful offerings for children, teens, adults and intergenerational groups. There is a great variety of options from which to choose. Check out the summer program list and register today!

Under 30? Over 30?
Are you planning a Naramata reunion for this summer?

In recognition of our 70th anniversary, we have made the long weekends in July and September available for three-night stays for reunions of summer staff or winter session. Usually at this time of year, participants must register for a full week.

Alberta Hall was home to many summer staff and winter session participants. So, to harken back to those days, Alberta Hall will be an available accommodation option for the reunion weekends. We know that it can be difficult for the under-30 crowd to get here for a week and we hope that the three-night option and lower price accommodation in Alberta Hall will appeal to all ages.

Start planning your reunion, contact your friends and book your stay at the Centre today!

Annual General Meeting
Plan to join us at our June 23rd annual general meeting (AGM) at Naramata Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend; only members are able to vote. To vote, membership must be renewed or purchased three months in advance, which is March 23rd this year.

Proxy voting is possible, so if you are a member who cannot attend the meeting you can ask another member to cast your vote for you. A member attending the AGM can carry a proxy vote for only one person.

We will update attendees about our business plan and address other important issues at this meeting. Member or not, we hope to see you at the AGM this year.

Naramata Centre Co-Founder Passes Away
The Board of Directors is saddened to report that Alleen McLaren passed away on February 14, 2018 in Victoria, B.C. Along with her husband Bob, Alleen was a co-founder of Naramata Centre.  She had pursued theological education through the United Church Training School for Women in Toronto, and was committed to providing spiritual and intellectual opportunities for lay people in the church.

We are very grateful for Alleen's amazing foresight, leadership, passion and energy as a co-founder of Naramata Centre.

In 2006, as the honorary chair of the Capital Campaign, Alleen said, "I feel confident that Naramata Centre is continuing to live out the original mission that Bob, I, and our associates intended. This ongoing theme has been carried on through changing times and changing leadership. We can all be encouraged that Naramata Centre continues to be a place of regeneration through learning, spiritual growth, intimate friendship, sharing, love, caring and kindness. We congratulate ourselves on these 60 years, but we must also move forward."

These words are equally important today and the current board is guided by this sentiment as we direct our efforts toward ensuring the Centre's success long into the future.

A memorial fund in honour of Alleen has been established at Naramata Centre.  Anyone wishing to donate can contact the Centre for details.
