Seeking Directors for Friends of BBBPRD2
We are excited to announce the formation of Friends of Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District #2 (Friends of BBBPRD2), a newly established non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for the District’s mission:
“To provide recreational opportunities, acquire and maintain sites that enhance our quality of life, and preserve the natural and recreational resources of the district.”
As we begin this important journey, we are seeking our first Directors to help shape the future of this organization. This is a unique opportunity to serve as a founding leader and make a lasting impact on the Blaine-Birch Bay community. About Friends of BBBPRD2:
Our purpose is to generate and facilitate both current and long-term funding through private-sector partnerships where municipal action may be limited. We aim to:
- Diversify funding streams to ensure sustainable support for parks and recreation.
- Support inclusive programming and recreational opportunities for all community members.
- Increase awareness among local decision-makers about the importance of funding and resources.
- Build relationships with donors and grantors to support capital improvement projects and future facilities.
Why Join as a Director?
As a Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding strategic goals, fostering community engagement, and ensuring the success of Friends of BBBPRD2. Your leadership will help us create meaningful recreational opportunities and preserve the natural beauty of our district for generations to come.
If you are passionate about parks, recreation, and community development, we invite you to join us in this exciting endeavor. Please contact us at heather@bbbprd2.com for more information or to express your interest.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a difference in our community.
Sincerely,
Heather Lindsay
Friends of BBBPRD2

Shout out to the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce!
We want to take a moment to congratulate the Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce for their incredible work producing last month’s Official Guinness World Record Attempt for the Largest Polar Bear Dip! A special shout-out goes to event organizers Sacha Sanguinetti and Danielle Gaughen. This was no small feat, and even though they didn't quite set a new record this year, they brought the community together in a way that was truly awe-inspiring. Thank you, Birch Bay Chamber, for everything you do to strengthen and celebrate our community!
