We want to also give a big shout out to our Team Manager, Stacy Hite, for putting together the coat drive that was hosted in December and January by our Coldwell Banker office in Grand Junction. She put in a lot of hours and we were able to donate many coats for a great cause.

Happy February!

Groundhog's Day was only a few days ago and Punxsutawney Phil (the groundhog) predicted an early spring when he did not see his shadow. So even though spring will come soon, it is still winter and it is freezing! Thankfully, we live in a great area for not only outdoor activities but also indoor activities that will guarantee fun on those frigid winter days!

First, we have rock climbing. I don’t mean rock climbing up on the snowy mountains, I mean going down to The Grand Valley Climbing Gym. This thrilling indoor climbing experience offers many walls to try. I have gone here many times and I must say that it is so much fun and very beginner friendly.

Second, watching movies! Going to a movie theater when it is very cold and dreary outside is one of my favorite things to do with friends or family. Plus, there are so many cool new movies coming out that you might like! Let's be honest, nothing beats movie popcorn! You can see what new movies are playing on their websites, Picture Show and Regal Canyon View.

Next, a super popular activity that you simply cannot turn down, swimming! We have a few places to swim indoors in the Grand Valley, and you should definitely check them out! I love to swim, and indoor pools allow all of my fellow swimmers to continue their passion throughout winter. Two great options for indoor swimming are Fruita Community Center, and Orchard Mesa Pool.

I hope you find something fun to do until it gets warm. Even if it is cold outside there is still a lot of cool things to do with the people you love….indoors!

See you next month!

-Kenzie

If you want to pop open the real deal on Valentine’s Day, these are the brands to buy.

There are many varieties of sparkling wine from all over the world, but Champagne is far and away considered to be the gold standard. And yes, the wine snobs are correct: it's only Champagne if it comes from the Champagne region of France. Located about 90 minutes east of Paris, Champagne is renowned for this long-standing history of winemaking.
