mothers and their babies.

Missy's Message

Dear Friends,
We are so excited about our new property! As our Heavenly Father tends to do, this property far exceeds our wildest dreams, as it says in Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” Our goal is to move by May 1. Great things are happening with our moms at the house! One of our moms just finished her second college semester with a 4.0 GPA. Another mom graduated from her training program and was hired for a job in the field that same week. And, we wait in excited anticipation for a new baby due to arrive in March. We are truly blessed.
Please be sure to join us March 10 th at our Gala Dinner and Silent Auction when moms testify to the Lord’s strength delivered to them through Bethesda House. Please purchase your ticket before Feb. 17 th so you can be there to support them!

House Campaign Surpasses Halfway Point!
With your tremendous support, we are just shy of 60% of our goal of raising $125,000 toward the renovations on the new Bethesda House!

Nine of the eleven rooms have already been sponsored! The great room was just recently sponsored by a multi-generational family and named after the family's matriarch. You can sponsor as a family or group, or in the case of our great room's sponsor-- in the honor of a loved one. One bedroom and the education room are still available.

Our supporters are the foundation of Bethesda House. The brick campaign gives individuals, families, and businesses the opportunity to purchase bricks and inscribe them with a special message. Bricks will be laid in the entryway of our new home marking your support for the NEW Bethesda House for years to come.

Renovations Have Begun!
The former commercial space is being transformed into the HOME we have been dreaming of. We have several needs over the next few months in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, plastering, electrical, painting, flooring, etc. We have team leaders who have stepped forward, so we are now just looking to build our teams to help make this dream a reality.

We are especially in need of plumbing help! If you are able to help with plumbing or in any other area, please email John Porter at Sokkernutz1@verizon.net.
Please Share: House Campaign Video
Please watch a video explaining our New House Campaign. We hope you will share this video to spread the word about the work we do and the success these mothers have achieved over just one year.

Seeking Culinary Coordinator
We are looking for a volunteer to help the moms with meal planning, scheduling food shopping, and coordinating with food banks and pantries. If interested, or if you need more info, please contact Missy at mp@bethesdahousema.org.
In Case You Missed It...
After all the votes were tallied... Bethesda House was the grand prize winner in the Hanover Mall's Giving Tree Contest! Our tree, decorated with baby pictures of residents and volunteers alike, won us the prize of $1,500!  A HUGE thank you goes out to Diane Brown and everyone who helped her decorate our winning tree and also to the MANY of you who voted for the Bethesda House Tree!
Seeking Donations
** Bethesda House is in need of expendable items on a regular basis. This month, we are specifically in short supply of wet wipes, paper goods, and household cleaning products. Check out the complete list of all of our current needs

** Virtual House Warming!
As we get nearer to our move in date, we have needs for many additional household items. We have updated our Amazon wishlist for supporters to help make the new house a home for our young moms and their babies. Check back frequently as we will be updating the list regularly!

And, as always, thank you for your continued generosity.
Facebook Changes
As you may have heard, Facebook is changing its algorithms to display more personal content on your feed and less visibility of businesses. From a personal standpoint, this probably sounds like a good idea but unfortunately, this will affect the notifications of your Bethesda House messages. We rely on Facebook to relay our most up-to-date messages of accomplishments and needs, and we hope that you find our posts relevant. Please consider not just liking our page but also under the option "Following" we urge you to select "See First" so that you don't miss a thing going on at Bethesda House!

** While you're at it-- please SHARE our page! We have over 1,100 followers but we're always looking for more!
Yours Sincerely,

Missy Porter, RN
