Leftie

This is our featured pattern idea for new in store yarn Cheshire Cat by Frabjous Fibers. You read that right, Frabjous Fibers now makes yarn!  This super smooshy 100% merino yarn also comes in Mini-Packs containing 5 colors.  So, 1 mini pack can do the stripes for 2 Lefties, and get a coordinating solid to complete the scarf.

In keeping with the rainbow theme, this neat scarf uses Kauni yarn, and double-knitting to create this stunning scarf.  Model in store!

More Pattern Ideas
The Soft Rainbow Shawl is a fun lace project. This features Kauni Lace yarn in the traditional rainbow colorway.

The Rainbow Dragon Backpack is a clever pattern featuring the Crocodile stitch.  This crochet bag also uses Kauni yarn in traditional rainbow.

The Slinky Hat pattern is a quick knit using just knit and purl stitches.  The colorful stripes are due to the yarn!  This calls for Crazy Zauberball or Kauni.

The Princess-Peacock shawl takes your knitting up a level as you work from a chart to make this show stopping piece in Shoppel-Wool lace!

The Irish Dream socks combine colorwork and socks for an amazing design!

We have just finished the Ravellenic 2014 games, and had a fantastic time!  We had 25 Ravthletes competing for team TFU, and over 36 events completed!  Check out our Finish Line to see all the hard work.  Start planning now for the Summer Games in two years!  Can't wait that long? Challenge yourself to finish a mystery KAL (Knit a long) shawl with KnitPurl hunter in the month of April.  It features new-in-store yarn Rylie, a super soft blend of alpaca, mulberry silk and linen.  And don't forget about the Tour de Fleece spinning competition in June-July!
Winter seems eternal this year, so in hopes of the promise of spring, this month's theme for pattern ideas is Rainbows.  There are many ways to accomplish this- change colors on your own, or select a color-changing yarn like Kauni, and let it do the work for you!
Spring is also a time for festivals and cute baby animals.  The Fiber Universe will be organizing a day trip to The Fiber Event in Greencastle, IN on April 19.  The plan is to rent a bus and spend a day shopping, taking classes, and enjoying the fiber arts and each other's company.  We will be posting more information on our website and Ravelry as details are worked out.  Please let us know if you are interested in attending!
