SPRING SPORTS SCHEDULE AND REGISTRATION

Registration in some sports have limited availability. Please register for only the sports that you intend to participate in so that others have an opportunity to join. Due to space limitations, please select ONE LOCATION only for pickleball or swimming!

NEW - FITNESS CLUB!

Get ready to move, have fun, and connect with friends! Special Olympics Fitness is an exciting new program at SOVAL designed to help athletes stay active in a supportive and fully accessible environment. You’ll work out through fun, engaging stations—no matter your ability level—all while building friendships and enjoying the group's energy. Be part of something special—where movement meets laughter, and fitness feels fun. We can’t wait to see you there!


Practices will be held at Method Health Club in Ashburn and Purcellville Sportsplex in Purcellville. Registration and schedule details are shown above.

Congratulations to the 154 athletes on 12 teams, coaches, and volunteers that participated in the 2024-2025 basketball program this season. You showed up! You played your hearts out! And, win-or-lose, you demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship! We are so proud of each and every one of you.


Five full-court teams - Mavericks, HoopStars, Blazers, Wizards, and Bobcats, plus the FUN-damentals skills group are headed to the 2025 Basketball Championship Games in Richmond on February 22-23. We know that you'll be cheering them on!

Polar Plunge

They went for the Cold!


It was a very cold and wet day for a plunge but our athletes and coaches do hard things everyday and succeed. Today was no different! Congratulations Area 14 teams!

Dynamos included Coaches Dan Dillon, Nasir Ahmed and Wilson Chua and athletes Adam Bell, Wallace Chua, Nicole and Rachel Levinrad, and Scott Bender

Coach Joy led a team of eight, including athletes Leilani Bowers and Malachai Schnabel



** NEW Medical Form Update **


**Please note that we have a new medical form that must be submitted every year,

effective immediately. With this change, Special Olympics Virginia no longer requires a doctor's signature.**


Before athletes can participate, they must have a current athlete registration and

medical release – dated this year - on file. If athletes arrive at practice without

these, they will NOT be allowed to participate.

Volunteer Impact Award

Nasir Ahmed has been a tremendous asset to Special Olympics Loudoun for many years now.  He has coached basketball, and assisting in track, cycling, soccer and is on the council as the Outreach Chair.  He has organized several Leesburg parades for us and set up tables at many outreach events.  He is always ready and willing to help and is such a positive influence on all members of Special Olympics Loudoun.  Thanks so much Nasir!



Athlete Impact Award

Cristina Bronson has been in Special Olympics for well over 10 years.  She participates in basketball, soccer and dance.  She gives her all to her sports and always has a smile on her face.  She loves her teammates and coaches and is a great asset to any team.  Congratulations Cristina!
