5: it is important that children eat at least

a day. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables provides vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, important for supporting growth and development, and for optimal immune function.
2: it is important for children to use
any electronic device for less than 2 hours a day
. This includes televisions, computers, phones, iPads, video games, and other electronic devices. Please keep a tv and a computer out of a child’s bedroom and no screen time for children less than 2 years old. The increase in screen time increases the risk for obesity, as well as lower reading scores and attention problems. Other activities to try instead of watching TV and using other electronics include: riding a bike, doing a puzzle, dancing, or reading a book.
1: it is important for children to get at least
1 hour of exercise per day
. Not only does regular physical activity help for weight maintenance, regular exercise also improves mood, boosts energy, and aids in better sleep.
0 sugary drinks a day
. This includes juices, sodas, and sports and energy drinks. The increase in sugary beverages is associated with excessive weight gain and cavities. Drink water instead! You can add lemon, lime, or orange wedges to water for some natural flavor.
