Membership Dues Update – Effective March 1, 2025


At the West Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, we are committed to supporting our local businesses and fostering a strong, connected community. As part of this commitment, we regularly review our membership structure to ensure we can continue providing valuable services, networking opportunities, and advocacy for our members. Following a thorough review, our Board of Directors has voted to implement a modest increase in membership dues, effective March 1, 2025. This adjustment will apply to all new memberships and renewals processed on or after this date.


This decision was made thoughtfully and takes into account several key factors:

  • Rising Costs: Like many organizations, we are experiencing increased operational costs, from event planning to essential services that support our members.
  • Regional Alignment: Our updated dues will bring us more in line with surrounding Chambers across the Niagara Region, ensuring fair and competitive membership rates.
  • Enhanced Member Benefits: This change allows us to continue improving our programs, events, and advocacy efforts to better serve our business community.

🔹 11-19 Employees: $322

Bert Vis Flooring: A Legacy of Quality and Service


For over four decades, Bert Vis Flooring has been a trusted name in the West Niagara community, offering exceptional flooring solutions and outstanding customer service. What started as a small, family-run business in a rented garage has grown into a well-established company with a reputation for quality, expertise, and dedication.


Humble Beginnings and Steady Growth

Bert Vis Flooring began in 1978 when Bert Vis, a Dutch immigrant, and his wife Joan launched the business from a rented garage in Caistor Centre. Having grown up in the flooring industry—his father owned a flooring store in the Netherlands—Bert brought his knowledge and passion for the trade to Canada. Guided by their Christian faith, the couple built their business with a focus on quality workmanship and superior customer service.

As the business grew, Bert and Joan relocated to Grassie, Ontario, where they operated from their attached garage. It was here that Bert’s brother, Wolter, joined them after immigrating from the Netherlands. The company continued to expand, soon outgrowing its space.

In 1984, Bert Vis Flooring moved to a rented storefront in Smithville, later purchasing and relocating to the former Smithville Bakery building. The company continued to flourish, and in 1997, they expanded by acquiring Peninsula Tile in Grimsby. Within a few years, they consolidated their Grimsby locations into one large facility, providing a more streamlined customer experience.


A Family Legacy

In 2017, Bert and Joan’s son, Ralph, and his wife Jane took ownership of the business. While Bert remains involved, and Wolter continues as general manager, the company remains firmly rooted in family values. Today, Bert Vis Flooring boasts a team of over twenty dedicated staff members, including Bert and Joan’s son, Henry. Their commitment to hard work, personalized service, and expert craftsmanship continues to drive the company forward.
