Our Youth

Every year our hearts get a little more full from serving alongside the youth in our communities. We are astounded and filled with joy at seeing the thoughtfulness, other centeredness, and care for the families and individuals we serve.

It is truly an honor to witness children putting their own needs aside to make sandwiches, assemble hygiene kits, hold donation drives, or spend a day in the cold or heat to benefit those in need.

Thank you to the many young ones who have a heart for helping others who are struggling. We are proud to serve alongside you!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Hilltop Elementary School

Thank you to the students and families of Hilltop Elementary School, Mendham for collecting over 1,000 pairs of socks for children and adults!

Some of the Sparrow House team had the privilege of attending the school assembly on the pillar of citizenship, where the fourth grade students presented and educated the younger students about homelessness and food insecurity. The students will also create healthy care kits as an added treat!

Girl Scouts & Brownies

A heartfelt thank-you to the Cadette Girl Scout Troop #97939 and Brownie Troop #98654 of Stanhope Valley Road School for assembling feminine hygiene kits for the women we serve!

You have fulfilled a crucial need that will relieve much stress for our female friends in Newark!

Aimee and Linda

Aimee Peppel and Linda Diffley are the donation gurus of Sparrow House. They work tirelessly to keep all our donations organized and easy to access. Each week they sort through clothing, toiletries, bedding, towels, coats, shoes, and much more to make sure the folks we serve receive what they need. They also stock the van every week and prepare it for our Saturdays in Newark!

Aimee and Linda are a prime example of how crucial our behind-the-scenes volunteers are to our mission! Thank you both for your dedication and hard work!
