"My call to counseling began with a simple word from God, “I want you to help people.”
I didn’t know what that meant for a long time, but through my own experience with mental illness and from seeing the lack of mental health care services that are available for the disenfranchised, I was led to become a Counselor.
There is a terrible stigma associated with mental illness in our society and you can often see it in the way people are treated.
God’s call on my life is to be an ear to those who have never been heard, a voice for those who are continually silenced, and a reminder that ultimate healing and hope comes from our Savior, Jesus Christ, who can bring purpose out of the deepest of pain."
