As Valentine's Day approaches, the season of love invites us to explore meaningful ways to express affection and care. This year, transcend traditional gestures by making a lasting impact through charitable giving.

Valentine's Day is not just about romantic love; it's an opportunity to spread love to those facing adversity. By directing our generosity towards The Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation, we can provide immediate financial support to Minnesota breast cancer patients and their families. This charitable act becomes a powerful expression of love, extending compassion and assistance to those navigating the challenges of this formidable illness.

This Valentine's Day, let the spirit of love take on a broader significance as we recognize the transformative power of giving. This February 14th, let love be the driving force behind a purposeful and impactful gesture that extends compassion to those who need it most.

Karen Larson, Board Treasurer

Karen Larson is the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer for the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. She is responsible for all finance and accounting functions, purchasing, human resources and information technology. Prior to joining the YMCA, Karen held leadership positions at a number of organizations, including as chief financial officer for the National Arthritis Foundation, chief executive officer for the Upper Midwest Region of the Arthritis Foundation and a number of senior leadership positions for the Star Tribune. Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and a master’s degree in finance from the University of St. Thomas. She has served on the boards of the MS Society-MN, Children’s Museum and the Minneapolis Downtown Council.
