Magda's Message
Can you believe February is already here? The shortest month of the year but so much going on for us here at SRPS, nevertheless! Our hard-working teachers continue creating so many meaningful learning experiences that promote friendship, teamwork, taking turns, kindness, respect, accepting one another, and sharing the gifts that we bring into our class group.

One of the things I love the most during my day is visiting classrooms and seeing the interactions that take place between our teachers and students, and amongst the children as they relate to each other. It is magical! They are growing so fast, and this shows in the conversations and connections they have with all teachers and staff, as well as with their surroundings. It is so much fun to be part of their world!!

At last, I hope many of you can join us for our annual SRPS auction, on March 2. I personally can't wait for this fun night. Our school board is working very hard on making this event a great success, THANK YOU!
We would also want to thank all of our families for continuing bringing donations, please keep them coming!!!

Sincerely,
Magda Taglienti

REMINDER OF OUR
ILLNESSES AND HEALTH POLICY

As we enter February, the last month of colder weather for us, please remember to keep your kiddos home when they have a runny nose or cough that is accompanied with a fever (100 degrees or over)!! The less exposure, the fewer illnesses!!

Also, do not send them to school if they suffer from any of the following conditions:

  • productive cough or itchy throat
  • persistent cough
  • sore throat or trouble swallowing
  • infected skin, eyes or rash
  • headache
  • diarrhea, nausea, vomiting in the last 24 hours or abdominal cramps

If you have any questions please refer to our health policy or ask us!

WE ARE A COMPLETELY NUT FREE FACILITY ! PLEASE READ THE LABELS ON FOOD PRODUCTS YOU ARE PACKING IN YOUR CHILD'S LUNCH.

Thank you for helping us staying safe and healthy!!
Friendly request to all of our families and friends
Please do not let the children walk on the retaining walls or rock (of any size) surfaces. The rocks on our embankments and along our sidewalks help us to keep the sand and rocks where we want them. Stepping on the rocks, rolling them, or moving them causes more erosion and when rocks are left or thrown onto on our sidewalks, we have had some accidents of people not seeing the little rocks and falling and getting hurt.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR COOPERATION AND UNDERSTANDING!

HEARD IN THE HALLS
While in the playground, a teacher noticed that a boy from the Dragonfly class had ripped his pants. When she asked "What happened to your pants?", he turned to her and very matter-of-factly said, "Oh, they just broke!"

A group of children from the Caterpillar room was playing with the big doll house, all of a sudden one of them said "where are the barbies?" Ms. A. explained to her that we do not have barbies at Shadow Rock. The little girl responded, "well, we can't play it without barbies!"

A blue bird noticed the red tire swing was removed and told one of her friends, "They finally took this swing away because my head broke it yesterday!"
